To sell your unwanted items for perhaps more than you would make just selling to the Trade Terminal, you may put your items on the universal Auction.
Where to begin
Just operate any Auctioneer. These are commonly placed in most cities and space stations. After a short pause the auction screen will appear, with some items that are about to expire. To sell an item(s), click on the sell button on the lower part of the screen.
How to sell your item
You are now at the seller’s screen. Click and drag the item you want to sell, and release when on the item holder place. The seller window is now updated with the TT value, the minimum bid and the current markup price/percentage. The only things left to do is to adjust the days on auction (choose between 1-7 days, default is 1 day), the starting price, and if desired a buyout price can be set (setting a higher price so if the bid is met the auction ends immediately). After you set all the controls, you will be asked to pay the required fee of 1 PED. It’s the only way to put the item out, so you have to pay it.
After your item is out, you can check it by browsing through the different sections and scrolling through the items until yours is found, or the easier route is to just click on ‘my auctions’ in the menu, and it will pull up all your items that are currently for sale.
If someone bids on your item, the # of bids will increment by one, and will show the bidder in the seller window. After the time is expired/buyout is met, the auction ends, the person who had the highest bid gets the item, and you will receive a notification that your item was sold, and your PED card is updated with the sale price.
If your item’s time expired with no bidders, you will receive a notification that the item did not sell, and you will need to talk with an auctioneer to pick it up.
