About NEVERDIE
In the early 1980's, NEVERDIE discovered "Wizardry," the ground-breaking single player 3-D roleplaying series. Upon completing the sequel "Knight of Diamonds" in only 15 hours, he immediately phoned the developers to find out if he had set a record. After Wizardry, he played Ultima, Might and Magic and Bard's Tale. From there, NEVERDIE juggled his passion for gaming with his budding career as an indie Movie star. In the mid 1990's, after running up an enormous phone bill playing a BBS MUD, NEVERDIE became convinced that a real-cash economy was the holy grail of multiplayer gaming.
In his real life he was playing a Rock 'N Roll Wizard in the Cult classic movie "Lucinda's Spell." In his virtual life he was among the first citizens of Ultima Online and Everquest, trading virtual items for real cash.
In 2000, Jean Claude van Damme signed up to play NEVERDIE in a movie chronicling the adventures of the World Champion Roleplayer but Sony started issuing injuctions to stop real-world trades of virtual items and the movie went into hibernation. In January of 2003, Project Entropia went gold. It was the world's first MMORPG with a Real-Cash economy and NEVERDIE had found his virtual home. During the first year, prices of the rare virtual items skyrocketed and the Uber players found themselves with Weapons and Equipment worth tens of thousands of dollars!
Neverdie's real-life girlfriend (the beautiful erotic Star and Singer Tina Leiu) even caught the bug and her alter ego "Island Girl" become one of the most beloved Avatars among the gamers in Project-Entropia.
NEVERDIE's fame in the Project-Entropia Universe grew as he became the first to aquire a Full set of the much sought-after "Shadow Armor." In 2004, his fame suddenly exploded when his song called "GAMER CHICK" ( http://www.itunes.com ) (which he wrote about Tina Leiu) was placed onto the Juke Boxes throughout the Project-Entropia universe. NEVERDIE became the first bona-fide virtual reality Pop Star! The Music video, which was filmed inside the virtual world, has stayed at the top of the Game Promo charts on http://www.ifilm.com/ for over 2 years.
At the end of 2004, NEVERDIE sold his nearly priceless collection of Armor and Weapons and amassed a war chest of over $25,000 U.S. dollars in order to bid for the virtual Treasure Island. However, Deathifier (a 22-year old Australian gamer) deposited a Hefty chunk of cash and ultimately outbid NEVERDIE. The final sale price was $26,500 U.S. dollars and the sale made headlines worldwide. It was even recorded in the "2006 Guinness Book of Records" as the most valuable virtual item ever sold. Despite losing the auction, NEVERDIE's fame continued to grow as he conducted interviews with international press on the nature of Virtual Economies. In February of 2005, tragedy struck when his real life girlfriend Tina Leiu, AKA Island Girl, suddenly passed away after a flu complication.
Gamers worldwide mourned for thier beautiful heroine and the developers of Project Entropia built the First-Ever Virtual Shrine inside an MMORPG to honor her memory. Thousands of gamers visited, leaving flowers and tributes. Neverdie was photographed at this Virtual Shrine for the upcoming book "ALTER EGO" by acclaimed photo journalist Robbie Cooper. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/4360654.stm
In October of 2005, Project-Entropia developer MindArk placed into public auction a Virtual Space Resort built upon an Asteroid with a nightclub, multiple hunting areas, a stadium, and a 1000-room hotel. This extraordinary piece of virtual Real Estate with incredible real-cash revenue potential captured the imagination of the gaming community and within only three days, eight serious bidders had emerged.
NEVERDIE, who is based in Miami, Florida, watched as hurricane Wilma approached and realized that if the winds took out his power he might lose the auction, so in the early hours of the morning he used the "Buy it Now" auction feature and purchased the Resort outright for the Record sum of $100,000 U.S. dollars!
Moments later, fierce winds toppled a massive tree in his yard and the power was gone. Hundreds of thousands of dollars had poured into the Project Entropia universe that day as other gamers deposited funds in an attempt to buy the Asteroid. The story of the sale made worldwide headlines. The next day, when Neverdie was able to get online at a cybercafe in South Beach he was immedeately offerd a whopping $200,000 U.S. dollars to sell his asteroid Space Resort, but he refused.
NEVERDIE has officially named the spacre resort Club NEVERDIE and he promises to develop it into the Greatest virtual night club in the Universe. Join him!
from JD's Journal
I was quietly sipping on a Baloon of Henessy VSOP, puffing away on a Port Royal Tailory and chatting with 6 of the Calypso's finest. Mrproper was dressed in 3 layers of thick warm clothing while strangely I was comfortably sporting a Tank Top and Board Shorts, (the airconditioning on level 1 seems to be able to access memory's of our lives back on earth a feature I am still getting my head around). Suddenly I received a coded message regarding a profitable and desirable offer that was to good to knock back involving a quick trip to Club NEVERDIE, I talked my trusty Pilot 'Bernz' into taking all 6 up in two flights, knowing this would be a challenge for any pilot but provide the perfect cover for my arrival! 'Bernz' was more than happy to devote the next 2 hours to our adventure unaware of the cargo he would be transporting back.
We all prepared for the trip with the knowledge that there would be no storage and proceeded to Cape Corinth. I teleported on ahead to Hangar #19 to assist Bernz with some last minute repairs and refuelled the ship, while MrProper Lead the party safely down the SE coastline. Getting all 5 HUDs operational at the same time was taxing on Bernz's beloved Wings but with a bit of shifting around he managed to get everyone comfortable and relaxed. Gibbs and I watched the first flight take off from the safety of Hangar Control Room, there was a mighty noise and a blinding flash then they were gone. Once we were all safely on the asteriod, everyone filled the alotted '1 Hour' in different ways.
I was early and my arrival seemed to go unnoticed, I nervously blended in with the crowd obscured by the auctioneer and waited.........--- THIS TEXT HAS BEEN REMOVED AND CLASSIFIED ---........I woke 3 hours later my head still sore from where it hit the ground. I looked around and quickly recognized that I was in the Stables just north of Argus, the package gone my only possesion was a communication device of Robot origin of which I had never seen the like of before. I staggered straight for the Bar at Fort Troy to see if I could trade it for stiff drink, the throbbing pain in my head soon vanished when I noticed the large anonymous deposit into my PED Card.
Although I am pleased with the result any help in regaining my memory of those eventfull 2 hours would be greatly appreciated, and why do I have 'Sleeper 942' tattoed on my @$$
