Teleporter. Some people might also call it a "town portal" which is a throwback to another game, Diablo, thought most players will simply refer to them as "TP's".
TPs exist in every town and allow you to teleport instantly from one TP to any other TP you have previously activated by Standing in it. Note that if you choose "change continent" you automaticaly have one TP on the other continent, Amethera. Otherwise you would have no way to get there!
It is very important to get all TPs as different locations have different facilities and allow the access of different mob populations. Also many players will ask you to meet them at a certain TP if needed. To add a TP to your map listings, simply find one and walk into it.
New VU 8.6 update
The teleporter list no longer opens automatically when you walk onto the teleporter. Simply click the operate action when on the teleporter to activate the list now. This eases some issues with players/mob blocking the Teleports.
