- Hey I have may have someone that wants to buy my advertising spot but he may want to make the advertisement more weighted so it appears more... is it possible for him to buy my 50 PED worth and then add say 100 PED more for more weight?

- I don't think JD will have a problem with that. ^_~
- Even if JD wants to keep them separate, the advertiser can have your slot and then a second, double-weighted slot. The only issue I see is that the 100 PED will need to get to JD. As JD hasn't been around for a few days, perhaps mrproper is willing to accept the payment and pass it on to JD the next time he is online?

- I have talked to JD and I'm allowed to take payments in his name and add them as negative transfers towards my payroll. As for the desired advertising information, see Advertising (article page of this talk, statistics changed very little) and Template:Adspace (detailing current config - current ads and weights). Contact me by email or EF and we can arrange with your client the desired solution for his campaign.

- Thanks gang, Mrproper has full authority in all matters during my absences. Unfortunately I currently have difficulty sitting at a computer for more than one hour max, so will just be checking Talk pages for next few weeks. Pays will be sorted by the 10th as per usual.

- Alright, if it would be possible could either of you send a PM ingame or on EF to Ami Trabin Trabin (Trabin on EF) the owner of OLA 14. Sorry it took so long I haven't been able to contact him for a couple days to confirm he would like to buy adspace. I would continue to be the middle man but I have to leave for vacation soon. Also I have told him that if he doesn't get a PM he will send one your way but that is his choice to when he sends one.

Advertising changes

- By June/July I hope to have a new system worked out and in place!
- All current ads will be cleared and existing, financially contributing ones will be kept and allocated to an account manager - all funds going to them!
- Ad Spaces will be opened up to editors
- ED.com rank decides ads ownership count
- a basic rule for personally assigned ads and mediation occurs via a rank rule, or sysop moderation
- You will be able to place personal ads at the top of Article pages that you contribute to!
- 15 day attendance rule will still be counted to determine invitation into this system!
- Another rule will be drawn up to determine demotion from the system!
Midori, I will most likely be handing over freyrs account to you
- Here is an example of what that would mean
- You are responsible for collecting the PEDs each month
- The PEDs become your's to do as you please
- You keep him happy, update banners and placement
- You as the main share holder have a priority say in how this new system will work and adapt!
Lastly, the current payroll system and marking system will be disolved..

- I am considering changing the ad display technology and of course, I will ask for all the IPs you use (or have a hound dog find them) and get them out of the ad stats, so editors and sysops will not be able to contribute to the ad display count.

- I will need to think about this for a while. I am a little too tired for complicated thoughts at the moment, so it is time for bed. Hopefully I can make a constructive contribution tomorrow. :)

- Is there any way to track how many clicks a particular banner gets, at all?

- There is no implemented system to do that here, but it can be done easily. I believed that the advertiser should track incomming referrer links, but we can arrange a cool redirect page with visitor stats tracking.

- That would really be the only feature I'd like to see. Because when I linked to my EF thread, EF didn't register the visits, so I honestly haven't got a clue how many hits I got from ED... So I've no idea whether or not the advertising helped or not. Plus, this feature would be good for advertising the actual advertising service since people will be able to see how effective it is (or not).

- Speaking of tracking referrals, what about slipping in some code into the banners we place on our EF posts? I'm interested in knowing how many visitors I'm pulling in with my posts, and it could be an interesting stat to bring into the mix. For example, someone who posts a lot in the hunting forums could give a potential ad client hard stats about how they'll help bring in views to that client's banner on the OLA Mobs page...

- Well, then this goes ontop of my book, until now, I was able to track a surge of visitors from EF that came from an almost certain link, but because the linking urls are dynamic (?post=10000&page=1 and stuff like that), the exact link cannot be stored in the current system. As for linking from EF, a solution would be to use the above redirect system should give some easy stats, but all EF links might need to be changed if tracking is desired.

- A redirect system would be fine with me. I often post a link in the text of my post, as well as the usual banner in my sig block. Would it be relatively easy to redirect to any page, i.e., http://www.entropiadirectory.com/wiki/Club_NEVERDIE_Minerals_Chart?referrer=Dauntain?

- This definitely sounds interesting, and anything that reduces the drain on your PED card is a good thing IMO. One aspect that needs some serious thought though is how to let the clients know who their current account manager is. If we don't have a clear system that the advertisers are aware of, some con-artist could come along, claim to be an ED member and collect the ad money from all of the clients.

- Last mont's ad impression count:
- adspace holder: 5478
- Freyr's banner: 3539
- that gives a total of 9017 ad shows. I researched and decided to pick a CPM rate based on keywording (not even directly targeted or bubble oriented, since the EU webspace is as such), to be about 5$/CPM. That means, the total value of the ads displayed in April is 450.85 PED.
- The 1000 PED montly target (which never got hit), is not that far-fetched. EU related ads are very specific, valid only to our scope (EU ads on an EU site, and of course the limited number of visitors matches somewhat the limited number of visitors relating to EU), and cannot be hidden or ignored.
- What this means is that when the new system starts, you will get ad impressions worth 5 pec each.
- I am really curious what 711's clients get for their unknown susms of money they pay for their EF advertising. And that's sometimes advertising an actual topic on the forum, it would be like us advertising the Shopping page, on a front page banner, when you can clearly use the links (but what a great idea to use for the person maintaining the shopping page :) ).
