Maybe Templates should be moved to bottom, they are hardest thing on this page, and reading about templates first (also with links to missing pages) confuses a lot.

Ahh those templates are crucial to keep the Style of the site intact if editing or creating that type of page< BUT I see your point!

umm how do i insert a picture into my user page?

You need to upload an image using the "upload a file" link on the left. Once the image is uploaded, you edit your user page and place the image's title in square brackets like this:

[[Image:This is your image name.jpg]]

If you find the image is the wrong size, you can also add some extra code to fix it:

[[Image:This is your image name.jpg|50px]]

The code above will produce the same image, but set to 50 pixels wide. You can replace the 50px with any number to set different sizes.
