Shop system draft
- Each shop location has an unique ID. This covers for all items and shopkeepers at that location.
- The unique IDs are given upon the date of creation and are listed in the Yellow pages.
- Each unique listing is given a one line short description.
- Each unique ID is linked to a page designed specifically for it
- On the page, an image consisting of the shop's environment is allowed and the complete info about the shop as a listing or summary of the items.
- The submitter may ask or deny the PE Directory maintainers to fill in shop prices and live market prices.
- A location image such is optional (map location screenshot)
- Optionally the submitter can supply a homepage or URL related to the shop
- All shops must use the Shops:A000000 layout.
- Unique IDs are in the form of #A06021101 - type.timestamp.count (the # sign is not in the page or link name). This means the shop is the first to be listed on the 11th February 2006. This allows for at most 100 shops for each category per day.
- Categories are:
- A - Apartment (such as shopkeepers)
- B - Booth (Booth shopkeepers and items)
- C - Club NEVERDIE shop (central room shops)
- D - Display shop (Tower lobby shops)
- E - Estate shop (houses, hangars and shed shops)
- F - Flight Agencies (not really shops, but that is still a service, and the letter fits the alphabet, man am I good or what :))
- Submissions are made on the Shop Submission page.
Steps to Creating a New Listing
- Create the new listing based on the numbering system and shop template outlined above
- Add the listing links:
- ALL:
- Add to the Shopping directory page for each category the listing falls under
- Add the listing to the Yellow pages full listing page (Add the newest listing to the bottom of the list - except for CND please keep those in numeric order by store #.)
- FLIGHT AGENCIES - "All" list PLUS:
- Travel Agencies
- Pilots: update both the "Listed in Directory" and "Full List of Hangars" Sections
- CND MALL SHOPS - "All" list PLUS:
- Club NEVERDIE: List in order of store #
- Club NEVERDIE Shops: List in order of store #
- Template:CNDmall
- ALL:
- Send the owner/contacts notification that their listing has been added. If they have a post on forums about their shop, it would be great to post the notification there, too -- this will bump their posting and provide some exposure for ED. Shopping/Announce contains some sample text you can use for these purposes.

Categories for shop listings
The shop listing categories are simple redirects for the parent pages. This doubles and exceeds the template supplied customizeable category parameter.
There are two integrated categories in the template: Shopping and Yellow pages

- Apartment -> Shopping (default)
- Booth -> Shopping (default)
- Club NEVERDIE shop -> Club NEVERDIE Shops
- Travel agency -> Travel Agencies
- Furniture shop -> Furniture Store
- Pet shop -> Shopping
- Hunting store -> Weapon Store
- Clothing shop -> Clothing Store
- Beauty parlor -> Beauty Parlor
- Resource shop -> Resource Store
- General shop -> General Store
- Department store -> Department Store
- Real estate shop -> Real Estate Agents

New Oxford - A City of Culture & Shopping
Hi JD / ed,
Would love to see a shopping catagory for New OX, there are lots of shops there, & they will open & progress as time goes on.
New Oxford Rocks, its not just Mall its full of much more interesting things.
Please can we have a New Oxford Shopping section, -Twin & the other Malls have owners who will help there Malls, New Oxford, has no one...

- Done! But this will now rely on the New OX shop owners submitting there shops for a listing! Twin Peaks was easy to list because all the info was already compiled by Neomaven! GL
Bolding of shop entries

- Can someone tell me what the bolding of shop entries mean? Bold entries stand out from the rest of the shop list, so the owners get an advantage in terms of visibility. If there isn't any reason to bold an entry at the moment, can we agree some rules as to how it should be used?

- Bolding was a feature that users paid for to upgrade their listing!
- For now all lists can revert to No BOLD as I will reserve this option for sponsors and donators and abolish the old system.
- Feel free to revert them all except Freys Fashion, Spods Discount Stores, Trins Crafter Supplies, Marauders Shop, Heaven01.
New Shop Listing Section - Art
Hi Ed,
Grrr.. I had to create this 3 times, because the page wont go back if I leave it,, what a pain. a 2 min idea turned into a 40 min mess... oh well, that wont stop me from trying,. :)
As you may well know there are a number of Art shops & Gallerys opening.
Be great to have a section with-in the shops to link to these.

- A great idea. I am not sure whether galleries should go under tourism instead of shopping, but it would be useful to list them somewhere. :)

- Still not sure if this should all be same page or... the article page draws on the shop data.

- Or if we really wanna go overboard, we could sort out all the Art locations, and offer a guided tour once a week, or once a month, for a small fee, that includes all of the artists being PRESENT in their galleries as our tour group arrives. Also lets get all them artists registered here, so they can get feedback from fans, and put up links to their personal websites so that at some point someone relevent in the real world likes their art, they can get IRL commissions or jobs through us also. (along with hefty kickbacks to yours truely for being so dam clever.)

- Something you don't just wanna post here? Im just an idea guy, Im not terribly interested in Art myself. As for the "tour", one problem is going to be "visitors" then don't have the TP's necisary to go on the tour. Once the itinerary is set up, along with probably about a 3 page script, (that the tour guide can simply cut and paste one line at a time to talk his way through the tour, hehe), it will be necisary to have a pre-tour tp run for those buying the tour package. This is probably where I'd be a little useful.. dragging noobs all over the continent like a mother hen to tag the needed tp's. Probably that should be set up as a seperate service for those that want it. Ive done it before for pay, but that was less structured.

Well I was thinking that the Gallery owners pay, not the visiters - say 1 ped each, to do a nice 1 hour tour + commision on any sales - thats how I've seen it work in some countries - Free Taxi - if you stopp off @ this shop & pick up a ticket ect. Some tp's yes may need to be got, most are fine.
How do you copy & paste text then Runner, i not worked that out yet, !!!

Gallery Page

- I am a little busy irl at the moment, but I will try to throw together an example of what an individual gallery page should look like later this week. I am going to start with something like Shops:A000000 as a base and see where I go from there. If any of you have any ideas about what should be included in a gallery listing, add them to the wish list below and I will see what I can do.
