There should be some talk here.

For example, we I think still need to have dedicated Fappers, at least for the Photographer and Boss Killer/Sprinter.

TIPS

1. This should be a lesson on following orders.
2. Take your time looking around each floor on the way up after bots have been killed.
3. Dummy run the quickest path back through each floor for way back
4. Remember your allocated floor for looting.
5. Remember the fastest way back and the number of floors you will pass through to get to your allocated loot boxes!

The best laid plans all go to the doghouse, thats when you look to your leader and listen!

I am against the specified time for serveral reasons:

mostly I will be sleeping at the time, and if awake, I won't be very happy at that time

the loot servers are updated and taken offline during the beacon run time

the loot does not present the high frequency and variety compared to other times of the day

I have no problem participating, it will cost me around 30 peds in all, but I might not be around at all :)

About the next two missions:

I will be in Spain at that time, trying to relax somewhat. They told me I'd have connectivity there, but take nothing for granted. If it all is as expected, I will definitely participating. But don't count on me in any way.

Reading the debrief, I want to start some disambiguization of levels.

Hear ye, members of Entropia Directory, Beacon Mission Level Names shall be known as follows:

Starting or Shuttle Level

Ring Level

Maze Level

Stepped Level

"F" Level

Pistol Level

Boss Level

Now take your map, and try to find all the levels by their names. I believe everyone can. But this is just a proposal, if a name is not IMMEDIATELY clear, we have to use another one.

Missions 2&3

We really need to start discussing start times for missions 2 and 3. The mission 1 start time was popular (we did schedule a 2nd mission for another time, but nobody turned up!), but it seems this may not be the best time for the loot servers. Any suggestions?

For what it's worth...I get the best loot between 11am - 1pm MA time.

Reading the table I don't think Mad can ake the time I have chosen either. I'm going to go ahead with the original time/date for a number of reasons, but it may be possible to have a second mission this same weekend. Is there a time range on the 24th when you would be available?

The time isn't really ptoblem USUALLY...sometimes (like this friday) Ms. Madstorm will be visiting me, so I might be unable to be here

I have to also some weekend spend on the university :( the next one is that one :(

BTW what for we need these 2 tables one here in TALK and another one in the article site?

Table in article is for one specific mission. It is reset for each mission and only those who are able to attend that one mission should enter their data. The table on this page is for ppl with a general interest in joining some of our missions. Everyone should enter their data once in this table and then update it as and when they feel like it. This table will not be reset.

from 20:00-23:00 MA time Friday 28th December and 10:00-23:00 Saturday 29th December would be good times for me. Possibly Sunday too. If we get enough people together and Dan doesn't show we can always buy a beacon from auction and fund it from loot.

yes MA=GMT. Meeting point is Aegis Mound, I have now added this to the article page. Your kit looks good (vigi/pala). Come along and get shooting at the drones, hopefully you will pick up some dodge points while on the mission. Just keep an eye on your health level as your main priority - we need you alive on the way back down to help us loot :)

while not wanting to piss on anyones bonfire but there was a 23ped beacon run today with 6k ped loot... chances are alll we'll do is refill the loot pool.

This is unfortunate. And unavoidable when we have to organise events so far in advance. I think if enough ppl turn up we should go ahead due to the time and effort involved in setting it up. I just hope Dan turns up ;)

7th mission

Good luck to you all, won't be able to participate (it's my sons first birthday and doubt that my wife would appreciate me slipping out ;) ). One tip: record the beacon run using the new (beta) version of video recording in XFire!! Bind it to an unused key combination, for instance minus (-) + PrintScreen... During the game press the minus key, hold it for 1 second and press the PrintScreen key...works like a charm! Beware it uses a lot of diskspace (7 MB/s = 4 GB for 10 minutes with a 1680x1050 resolution), but it should be possible to convert it back to DiVX or similar after it was recorded (using other tools).

Thanks Nika, hope you can make the next one. Will do some trials with the beta XFire vid - Have used FRAPS in the past, but it reduced frame rate too much on the beacon runs. Spike usually deals with any video as he has external SATA drives that he can record to without drawing too heavily on system resources. However, no video has been attepted on the last few runs due to some RAID verifications problems. Hope your son enjoys his birthday.

I have 4 x 80 Gb SATA in a RAID (stripe) too, which is extremely fast, so next time, I'll do the recording. Hope my armour can handle the Boss's firing ;)

I have set the date for Saturday 26th January 2008. It would be good to try a different time, maybe earlier in the day. Will anyone be around at, say, 1300 MA or even 1000 MA?

I might not be available during the day (got a newyears brunch & my son running 'round)... But being the photographer only you wouldn't miss me ;). No success in the last film btw - what was the other program again for recording?

Log in at 22:00 anyway, chances are it'll start then even if I do schedule it for 10:00 ;) As for video, I'm not really the expert - ask Spike if you see him. I've only done ingame video with FRAPS before, but I understand it is now a beta feature of XFire. And virtualdub I think was the program for editing/reformating.

I'll check out FRAPS. Yeah, xfire has it, but the xfcodec has nooooo compression which is horrible. My machine is fast enough to encode xvid in realtime (and play Entropia ;)), but I need something that can do it...

Antonio, thanks for putting me as spearhead, but as for Boss Killer, I don't think I can take a warrior lvl 6 at this stage, Drones no probs, but a warrior....I'm not really sure I could take it solo. I don't want to screw up the beacon run for everyone else tbh. This is only my second beacon-)

Taz, its a 23 PED beacon so it will be a warrior 1 or 2 and you won't be alone, there are always 2 ppl assigned to the boss level due to the layout. But if youy really don't want to do it, thats no problem.

Great IDEAS mate! Added PVP4 Hunt, but I think that we are still far from that kind of pleasure, so we should be able to spend some time on Oil Rig

BTW: unfortunatelly I'll be unable to lead and even take part in these and maybe even next week society missions - too much to study :( GOOD LUCK!
