Introduction
Treasure Island, known informally as TI, was the first virtual real estate sale to create a stir in the wider gaming community with the large price tag of USD$26 000. It was bought by Deathifier from Sydney, Australia. Over a year later, Deathifier announced a break even thanks to the sale of some of the 60 promised Estates packaged with the island, Hunting taxes & Mining taxes. Taxes have now been set at one of the lowest rates on Amethera.
Gateway to Amethera
Every new player has access to three teleporters when they first log in. The first is the teleporter of the city they spawn in (Fort Argus, Fort Troy or Port Atlantis) and Treasure Island making it the first place to explore when one decides to go to Amethera.
Tips to get TPs
Run south-west and make it more than half way to the south-west tip of the island. From there, you can safely die, then reviving at Treasure Island City. You can collect the TP that is in the midst of the apartment blocks and next to a blue service centre.
Next, you can return and follow the sand bar south-west to Genesis Amethera Headquarters, which is another city that also has apartments.
Now that you have all the TP's north of the river on Amethera, you can finally cross that river - and enter a much tougher environment. The places below the river are great for big game hunting and HoF Mining. However, you might want to pack a Teleport Chip as some places could otherwise take you a few hours and many attempts to escape from on foot!
Geography
The Bar
Surely this is the first stop on any great adventure, and the Treasure Island Bar is a truly unique bar with its island holiday, outdoor theme.
The Castle
In the early days this was a PvP fight zone and host to many 'Capture The Mansion' events. Nowadays the whole island is a much friendlier place and new players no longer get PK'd just for TP'ing in. The most common form of entertainment now seems to be watching New Colonists throw them selves off the top balcony when they realize how far they have to run to collect all the TPs on Amethera.
The Service Centre
The SC here is west of the TP, just past the fertilizing station and looks identical to all the other blue SC's on Calypso. It's here that you will most likely find Deathifier, who is known as a nice and approachable guy.
The Stables
With a unique Show Ring out back, this attraction is a good place to meet skilled Pet Trainers, who will always have fully trained Pets for sale. You may also find an event organiser at the back of the stable.
The Hangars
Deathifier's personal Hangar and Space Ship can be found south of the TP on the bank of the Lake. All the other hangars have been sold and are located near the Treasure Island North TP.
