I had heard a lot about Spiral Mountain, and what with the recent Easter event by Trader's Guild located at Spiral Mountain as well as the lack of a page on it for PE Directory, I became motivated to make a trip to this seemingly wonderful place. Once before, I had come near to this place of interest when escaping from the evil outpost west of Fort Troy, but decided to skip it due to my impatience. (I had, after all, suffered death at the hand of Atrox many times and was eager to get back to civilisation.) Now, the time had finally come to visit it.
Day 1
Looking at the map, I saw that Zychion Citadel was the nearest teleporter to Spiral Mountain, and thus I set off from Zychion. South I went, and down there I found big mobs. A hungry Atrox decided to gobble me up for lunch, and sent me back to the revival. After a few more tries, I gave up for the day and slept in the ruins of Zychion, being one of the many homeless people sleeping in the long-abandoned ruins.
Day 2
Based on a tutorial from Trader's Guild forums, I decide to start my long and tedious jorney from Port Altantis instead. Jogging off towards the south, I hiked through kilometres of sparse jungle. Along the way, I met some Exarosaurs and decided to have some fun with them, and jumped around, got some Evade, and got killed by them. Whee! Some extra fun (ir)relevant info Repeating this one more time with the Combibos, I finally got tired of it and decided to get on with my journey.
Packing in 8 bombs and the TT ore detector, I went down south to the coast. Sprinting towards the east, I met an orange noob along the way. Evidently, he was trying to drown the Combibo just behind him, and which had reduced his health to a small red strip. He luckily suceeded in this venture and then ran off north. I stood and watched, thinking, "What a poor guy... Reminds me of my first days..." Waking up as if from a trance, I ran off along the sand-colored beach.
Finally reaching the channel of water between the northern and southern continents, I proceeded to drop a bomb as a prelude of my swim across the Channel. Looking eagerly at the screen, I waited in suspense... and gave a sigh as my PED went down the drain, or to MindArk.
Diving into the cold water, I swam at a steady pace, being careful to avoid the clumps of red dots on my radar that signified Rippersnappers. Once, I accidentally attracted some RipperSnappers to swim towards me, but just managed to get to the shore in time before the fierce fishies took too many bites out of me and sent me back to Port Altantis.
Breaking into a sweat as I climbed out of the icy water and ran towards the misty hills in the distance, I dropped 2 bombs on the way. Both came up with "No Resources Found". Another 2 of my precious PED (literally) blown. *Sigh*....
Running over the now blue-greenish ground, I came to a hill where there was a fantastic view of Spiral Mountain, and decided to take some pics. After that, I ran forward and went up the via the Spiral path to the summit. Going up, I decided to see how far it was to the ground. Unforunately, in attempting to do this I fell all the way down, where I had to start my trip from the beginning of the path all over again. There was also some additional motiviation in the form of Cornundos chasing me up the path, though they thankfully fell off the path after about 5 minutes.
As I climbed, the path changed from green to blue to brown to green to brown and so on... It made for an interesting trip up.
Finally, at long last, I reached the summit. The view was magnificient, and after I had taken screenshots, jumping down was nice too.
I then decided to sweat some Cornundos and also FAP myself, getting Evade, Vibrant Sweat and FAPping skills. To my astonishment, some trapped Cornundos just died while I was sweating them. Hey! Does that mean I can sweat to kill stuff? :P
While running away from one particularly persistant Cornundos Mature, it hit me and killed me, creating a nice little blue skull above my corpse.
Reviving at the northern outpost of the southern continent, I proceeded to go north towards Zychion, dropping a few bombs along the way. Just south of Zychion, I found something! :P Poor Caldorite deposit Unforunately, as I was running towards my first and only ore deposit, some evil brown mobs decided to chew on me. Ah! Running, dodging and evading the attacks of my pursuers, I managed to claim my deposit just before the evil mob sent me back to Zychion.
Knowing that trying to get to my deposit by going south would be near impossible, I teleported to Twin Peaks and proceeded west from there. On the way, I encountered numerous noob mobs committing a mass suicide in the water. Lolz! Finally, I managed to reach my deposit and extract it. woot! I then went and got myself killed, and prepared to revive to Twin Peaks to spent the night there...
