Axxium: Hello, just made an account, Axxium, and am trying to learn how do edit the pages correctly the way you would like them to be set up and will see if i can effectively improve anything next month. Is it ok if I end up asking you a lot of questions as I get started? Is there anything else I should do, aside from reading all of the "getting started" page? and is there another place besides using this private chat(EF), for me to post/ask questions? If you don't need anymore help and/or if I'd just be a bother, let me know cuz I dont want to cause any trouble.

Axxium: Glad to get such a warm welcome. I tried making a page today, for the item Short Bigwig Board. I'm very new to this, just copy pasted the script and made the necessary adjustments. Is this what you're looking for? Any comments before I make another attempt?

Axxium: Hi again, just a few more questions. I was looking at a shop script and one looked like this...

ok...the more i mess around with this, the more questions i have...I guess my first question is, is the way to show script and not have wiki actually read it as script is using <nowiki> and </nowiki> between the script that you want to show? If this is the case, how come the "& n b s p ;" at the end of the script that i want to show you guys isn't appearing? My original question was, what's the use of adding & nbsp after the image? or what's the function of & nbsp? Oh, plz correct me if i'm using the wrong terminologys or techniques for "good" scripting.

What does {{contest}} mean/do?

Dauntain: Yes, you are correct on the nowiki tag.; & nbsp; (with no space between first two characters) is code for "non-breaking space". It's used for padding or to create a blank entry. It's read by the browser itself (I think), so it's not a matter of using nowiki to prevent it from being parsed as wiki markup. It just gets rendered as " ".; {{contest}} is a call to "Template:contest". Basically, templates are a way to create a format ahead of time for multiple pages or elements, just like a Microsoft Word template. For example, {{WikiEdit}} gives this:

Axxium: First off, just want to say thanks for the info Dauntain.; Ok, now to the point, I finally got my signature to display the ED logo and linked it to the site, but how do you get it to be as flashy as JD's sig? You know, how his keeps changing? sorry if this was addressed already...

Dauntain: You're welcome! There are two different ED banners available on EF--the animated one is the older of the two, found here.

Axxium: How do I delete old screen shots of shops that have changed owners so that I can replace them? I tried replacing the file using the "Upload a new version of this file" but the old one keeps showing up.

I'm not sure where I heard about it so sorry if it's being asked again, but is there a way for me to see what pages link to the one I'm working on other than doing a search?

Midori: I think there is a bug with uploading replacement images, as I have seen a few failed attempts here so far. I would suggest listing any old images at Pages for deletion and then uploading a new image.; To see what pages link to the one you are working on, you can click the "What links here" link that appears just below the search box.

JD: Yeah, replacing images is most definately nerfed! Mark for deletion and upload a new Image.

mrproper: that or clean your browser's cache, restart it, go to the page with the image, purge the pages (click edit then replace the action=edit with action=purge in the adress bar), then see if it worked. Or just change the image name in the page and re-upload.

Axxium: Thanks for the answers. I think mrproper's suggestion is a little advanced for me ^^. But I have tried the mark for deletion method using the page Midori gave me Pages for deletion. You didn't want me to create a new deletion page on my user page right?

While browsing the recent changes I noticed another Short Midastree board page was made. We have a short midastree board page already here Midastree Board Short. I was thinking that it might better to rename all the item pages to their in-game names(caps included). This might help to avoid more...confusion/redundancies? What do you guys think?

Also, I've changed the pics that I upload for items to include the boarders of the entropia info screen like this one

(except that I like to use a black background) instead of just the item like this one

after I saw the example from the new vu. Couple examples Chikara Mineral Refiner MR100 and Chikara InvestaFoe ES100. I'm thinking that the site would more professional/cool/orderly/etc... if pages looked more consistent, so I guess I'm starting with images since I don't really understand templates yet(will read up on templates next week). What do you guys think? or does it matter? too nitpicky? any other comments/criticisms on anything I'm doing?

Midori: I have deleted those images. Just keep adding them to the list on my page and I will clear them away for you. :); Where there are duplicate pages, I think it would be best to keep the one matching the in-game name and turning the other into a redirect. To do this, first make sure the correct page is up to date (possibly copying over information from the obsolete page) then place this code on the obsolete page:

I think mrproper needs to answer your question on images as he is in charge of the overall style of the wiki.

mrproper: Due to the nature of the wiki and the need for quality non-overheaded content, we like the pictures of stuff to contain the least amount of other crap, such as backgrounds, texts over them, avatars trying to get a place in the pic (unless it's an avatar-related pic), and other interface elements. So get the info scree, point at the sky (maybe go into a light sky area) and take a screenshot. cut out the info screen, do not resize the picture before uploading. Optional background removing and color ramp adjustment (gamma, contrast, colors, levels...).; Naming conventions: none of that pe-wiki crap (eg: Midastree Board Short, Opalo Sollomate, Wiki names YOU), why can't an item be named as it is written. Images should be the same. Solomate Opalo.jpg, Iron Ingot.jpg, Chirpy.jpg, etc.jpg. If an image exists, then add something like -001.jpg at the end or your initials, or something. Try to reuse all pics. Do not re-upload existing pics, bandwitdh costs!

Axxium: Alrighty, I think I've applied most of what mrproper mentioned...except the sky background, totally forgot...will use it from now on. Non-overheaded means not including useless things in a pic? I couldn't find a definition for the word. And I intend to get to redirecting pages to the correct names, but I wanted to create templates for the pages so they are not being remade twice.

In an attempt to make a template using examples that already exist, I've come up with two examples (Template:Axxium02 Template:Axxium03) of them and used at the bottom of this page User:Axxium. How's it for format and content? Would guys prefer if I used a multi template format where each stat is in a separate template?

One problem that I've come across is that the new items, such as the ones I used for examples at the bottom of User:Axxium, don't show the PE Auction price even though I enter the number and encircle it with <pea> and </pea>.
