mrproper: no problem, I am at work so my response is lower, can get up to 4 hours or so ;); you already have a link at the top of your user page. I am not going to fill this page with link on how to write text in here that looks good, but take a little look at our edit guide.

mrproper: You have not confirmed your email adress and you cannot receive emails from other users. Keep in mind that there are no security risks in specifying an email adress in your preferences, as only responding to an email will reveal your real adress.

mrproper: There is no need to write it down, just change it in your preferences and activate the link you receive by mail. Also, allow other wiki users to send you emails (prefs)
